Many of you know that Chief Administration Officer, Leigh Twiford’s lifelong passion has been to make life better. In late 2017, she decided to pursue an opportunity to do just that outside of the Conexus family as entrepreneur-owner of FirstLight Home Care in the Harrisburg Region. FirstLight is an award-winning provider of non-medical home care serving seniors as well as new or busy mothers; those recovering from injury, surgery or illness; or other adults in need of assistance. Leigh’s caregivers provide both companionship and peace of mind. Services include personal care, cooking, cleaning, running errands, mobility assistance and dementia care. Leigh’s goal is to match the ultimate caregiver with the ultimate client so that both can be their best possible selves. As the CAO for Conexus, she lead the charge in professional development of our team while ensuring that benefits packages were competitive and suitable. Working with Kurt, she built an infrastructure within the company that allowed for employees to do their best job outside of the company, whether on a job site or meeting with a client. Outside the workplace, she serves as Vice President of Camp Hill Borough Council and is helping break the inner-city cycle of poverty as Vice President of the Nativity School of Harrisburg board. “My goal is to partner with families to help preserve the independence of their aging loved ones by delivering the best possible care in the place they call home,†said Twiford. “The FirstLight focus is always our Culture of Care, providing exceptional home care by extraordinary caregivers. I feel like, to some extent, this is an extension of the culture that Kurt and I built at Conexus.†While we will miss Leigh at Conexus, we know that this fulfills a lifetime of commitment and wish her immense success in this new endeavor. Thankfully, Ava will stay on-board as our Cultural Ambassador, but is anxious to help lift spirits at FirstLight as she is able! You can learn more about Leigh’s new venture here.
